💰 Plans, Threads, and what they cost

Wovenkeep runs on two layers: Threads (your credit for optional extras, spent action by action) and subscription plans (optional monthly packages that include Threads plus more campaigns, storage, and seats). Every plan can do everything — there are no feature gates, including on the free Adventurer plan. You can use Wovenkeep forever for free — buying Threads or upgrading a plan is entirely optional.

During the beta, the dashboard lists your plan as Storyteller — the plan from the beta note above.

What it does

• Threads are credit for optional extras. Every use of an AI help costs a small number of Threads. Preparing, running, and sending cost nothing. Pay for what you use, nothing more. Threads never expire.
• The push is free. Sending text, scenes, and images to your players' phones costs nothing and works on any plan.
• Plans bundle a monthly Threads allowance, more campaigns, extra storage, higher player caps, and support. They never gate features — every feature works on every plan.
• You can earn free Threads through normal use (signup bonus, milestones, feedback), buy bundles at any time, or bring your own AI key — then AI text actions cost 0 Threads.

Threads — how your credit works

What costs Threads

Every use of an AI help costs a small number of Threads. Preparing, running, and sending cost nothing. Amounts are per use:

💡 Tip: If you have your own Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, or OpenAI-compatible key (your own endpoint — Mistral, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, IONOS, self-hosted, etc.), configure it under ⚙️ Tantu Settings → Your own API keys (optional) and AI text actions go to it first at zero Threads — you pay the AI provider directly. See Your own AI provider for the priority order and fallback. Image suggestions are free only with your own Google Gemini key; sound always costs Threads.

How to get Threads

Buy Thread bundles — bought Threads never expire:

Monthly allowance from a paid plan — see the plan table below. Monthly Threads land in the same balance as bought and earned Threads, and none of them expire.

You buy bundles in your account on app.wovenkeep.com, under Top up Threads. The balance updates in your GM tool within seconds.

You always see the cost before you click

Threads never surprise you:

• Cost badges — every AI button shows its price, e.g. "5 🧵" (or "0 🧵" on text actions when your own AI key is configured).
• Confirm dialog — before any paid action runs, a dialog shows the cost, your current balance and the balance afterwards:

• Threads chip — the topbar shows your live balance, refreshed after every action.

What "out of Threads" looks like

If your balance is below an action's cost, the action stops cleanly — no partial generation, no debt. Wovenkeep tells you where you clicked and at the bottom of the screen:

Click Top up Threads — it opens your account on app.wovenkeep.com in a new tab, at the Threads section. After the purchase, the GM tool picks up the new balance within seconds.

Subscription plans

Every plan can do everything. Plans differ only in monthly Threads, campaigns, player seats, storage, and support — AI help is billed with Threads after use, on every plan.

Pushes are unlimited on every plan — text, scenes and images, including on the free plan.

Adventurer is the permanent free plan — the full GM tool with every feature (campaigns, NPCs, sessions, encounters, dice, live session tools, the SRD compendium with 3,761 openly licensed entries), plus 100 starter Threads and earnable Threads. One campaign, up to 6 players, 100 MB, no monthly Threads — and no NPC limit.

Game Master is for regular tables: 60 Threads/month included (they never expire), unlimited campaigns and NPCs, up to 8 players, 1 GB storage, e-mail support.

Storyteller is for big tables and heavy prep: 130 Threads/month included (they never expire), unlimited campaigns and NPCs, up to 8 players, 5 GB storage, e-mail support.

Guild Master is coming soon and can't be booked yet. It is meant for big tables: 300 Threads/month included (they never expire), up to 12 players, 20 GB storage, priority support — one account pays for the whole table.

Idle-stop on Adventurer (free plan)

Adventurer Realms that have had no activity for 14 days are automatically paused overnight. Your data is never deleted — the next time you (or a player) log in, the Realm restarts within a few seconds. You'll see a short loading screen while it wakes up.

This only affects the free Adventurer plan; paid-plan Realms stay running continuously.

Beta invite code

You don't need an invitation code to sign up. If all beta places are taken, the signup page offers the waiting list instead.

No trial — free is forever

There's no time-limited trial and no countdown. You begin on the free Adventurer plan with every feature available and receive 100 free Threads as soon as you complete signup — no credit card required. Spend them on the optional AI help you want to try (portraits, NPC generation, scene suggestions, and so on), and earn more as you hit milestones. Nothing expires.

When a paid plan's monthly Threads allowance, extra campaigns, storage, or higher player cap makes sense for your table, you can upgrade at any time — but you're never forced to.

Storage top-up

Running low on storage? You can add +500 MB of permanent storage at any time by spending 50 Threads — no plan change needed. There is a cap of +5 GB total top-up per Realm. Open 💾 Storage in the sidebar (Admin group) to see your current usage.

How to upgrade or change plans

1. Open your account on app.wovenkeep.com
2. Click Upgrade plan
3. Choose your new plan and confirm

Upgrades apply immediately — you only pay the difference for the rest of the month. Downgrades and cancellations apply at the end of the current billing cycle; you keep the higher tier until then. Payment is processed through our secure payment provider — Wovenkeep never sees your card number.

Where Wovenkeep is available

Wovenkeep is priced in Euros, currently aimed at German-speaking markets (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Players and GMs elsewhere can sign up and pay — your bank handles currency conversion. US Dollar and British Pound pricing is planned.

A small number of countries cannot sign up due to international sanctions rules.
