Wovenkeep is a Game Master tool for tabletop RPGs (D&D 5e and compatibles). It handles the busywork — pushing scenes to phones, tracking initiative, managing handouts — so you can focus on telling a great story.

This section walks you through the first hour of using Wovenkeep: what to sign up for, how Wovenkeep is organised, and how to get from "I just made an account" to "my players are sitting at the table and we're live".

Your first hour with Wovenkeep

What happens when you sign up

When you create an account on app.wovenkeep.com you immediately get:

1. Your own Realm at yourname.wovenkeep.com — a private, isolated GM workspace nobody else can see into.
2. A demo campaign ("The Secret of Lauf") — pre-loaded with scenes, NPCs, and a reset banner so you can explore without fear of breaking anything.
3. 100 free Threads — enough to try portrait generation, NPC dialog, and a session recap on the spot.
4. A guided tour — Tantu greets you with a spotlight walkthrough across the 6 main areas of the tool. Tantu answers with the help of AI.

💡 Tip: The demo campaign has a Reset banner at the top — you can wipe it back to the factory state any time. Use it to learn freely, then create your own campaign when you're ready.

⚠️ Beta access: You don't need an invite code to sign up. If all beta places are taken, the signup page on app.wovenkeep.com offers the waiting list instead.

You sign up on app.wovenkeep.com. That account is where billing, password reset, plan upgrades, and the marketplace live.

You run sessions on yourname.wovenkeep.com. That's your Realm — your own private space. You only log in once; moving between your account and your Realm is seamless.

How Threads work (the short version)

The push — sending a scene to every player's phone — is free. Threads are only spent when you use AI help:

You start with 100 free Threads at signup. If you bring your own AI key (OpenAI, Gemini, etc.), text actions cost 0 🧵 — images too with a Google Gemini key; sound always costs Threads. Every AI button in the tool shows its price as a small 🧵 badge, and a confirm dialog with the cost and your balance appears before each paid action.

What the guided tour covers

When you first open your Realm, Tantu walks you through 6 areas via a spotlight tour:

1. Campaigns — creating and switching between campaigns
2. NPCs — adding characters with personality and portraits
3. Scenes — building image + sound pushes for your players
4. Live session — starting a session and pushing to phones
5. Compendium — the SRD rulebook with 3,761 openly licensed entries, built right in
6. Settings — API keys, player permissions, and more

You can restart the tour any time from the Tantu help bubble (bottom-right corner of your Realm).

How players join

Players don't need an account. You send them an invite link from the Players section of your campaign. When they tap it, they get a short beginner-friendly wizard (the ELI5 character wizard) that walks them through picking a class, name, and backstory — no D&D knowledge required. Their character sheet then lives on your campaign, accessible on their phone during the session.

Plans and what they bundle

The free plan (Adventurer) gives you every feature for prep and live sessions in your Realm. Its limits: 1 campaign, up to 6 players, 100 MB storage and no monthly Threads — there is no NPC limit, and image pushes are unlimited. Paid plans bundle a monthly Threads allowance and more storage:
